The main activity of Project CED is to find and support new, high-quality artistic activities with the main focus on theatre. This includes organizing festivals, major theatre events, performances of local and foreign artists, organizing exhibitions on the theatre premises and maintaining the library and archives.
Project CED organizes major theatre projects and international festivals.
The international festival DIVADLO V POHYBU (Theatre in Movement) is organized by the CED and the Theatre Goose on a String. It is an international festival event, focusing on the presentation of contemporary creations of the Theatre Goose on a String within the context of international theatre activities and European cultural movements. The most recent festival so far was held in 2005.

In 2000 a new theatre project ARCHA 2000 (Theatre in Movement) was created. It was actually only one production, when actors, actresses, musicians and the audience went through the town with Noah´s Ark. The Ark was a unique object made using original carpentry techniques. This event gave its name to the Project ARCHA, which focuses on finding new forms of theatre and new spaces for theatre performances, which it discovers and symbolically transfers into the new millenium. Since then every year the Centre for Experimental Theatre has organized the Archa project always designated by the current year.
The CED also participates in organizing the SETKÁNÍ - ENCOUNTER international festival of theatre schools and provides space for the Festivadlo international festival of francophone grammar schools.
In addition to these "big" events Project CED organizes a number of theatre performances. Well-known theatre companies from the Czech Republic, e.g. Theatre Archa, Drama Studio Ústí nad Labem, and also from abroad perform here.
Amateur theatre groups and young artists can perform on the Cellar stage, e.g. in a special programme called "Evenings for Ellen". There are also antropological lectures, film shows, evenings of stage readings etc.
Concert activites form another important part of Project CED, e.g. a very special series of ethnic music called "Mezi proudy" (Between the streams), which was organized together with Czech Television, and a project for young bands called "... Brno scene?"
Project CED also supports the activities of the amateur theatre studio called Studio House (Studio Dům) led by the co-founder of the Theatre Goose on a String, Eva Tálská.
Since 2003 the only professional theatre of deaf people in our country, Theatre Neslyším (I don´t hear) has regularly performed on the Cellar stage.
