HaDivadlo vítá nové herecké osobnosti: Josef Kostka, Šimona Horynová a Ema Lovecká

HaDivadlo is changing from the very beginning of the new season. On 6 September, we can look forward to the opening of the season in Zahrady pod Petrovem and later in HaDivadlo, where the new visual identity will be unveiled and we will learn about the upcoming premieres. Already today we can meet the new actors – Josef Kostka, Šimona Horynová and Ema Lovecká.

HaDivadlo will open its new theatre season on 6 September 2025 with a new look. In addition to new artistic leadership and a new visual identity, we can also look forward to new members of the ensemble. Questions about acting and theatre were answered by Josef Kostka, Šimona Horynová and Ema Lovecká.

Where do you all come from and what attracted you to HaDivadlo?

Josef Kostka: I come as a freshly undercooked bread from the Theatre Faculty of JAMU. Otherwise I come from the south of Bohemia. I was attracted to HaDivadlo by the desire and wish to do theatre after school and also by the new wind that is blowing into HaDi. :)

Šimona Horynová: Before joining HaDivadlo I studied drama at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno in the atelier of Igor Dostálek. HaDivadlo attracts me with its unique atmosphere. I like its introversion.

Ema Lovecká: I'm currently finishing my BA at DAMU in the department of alternative and puppet theatre, so I pray that everything goes smoothly and without any problems and I've been attracted to HaDivadlo by the new artistic directors.

What led you to acting? Why did you decide to become actors/actresses?

Josef: I was led to acting by a failure in my biology studies. I wanted to remain a child in adulthood and play.

Šimona: The joy I feel every time I perform.

Ema: I don't know really, I feel like at some point I jumped on a wave that I've been trying to surf and navigate ever since.

What has been your most important acting experience so far and why?

Josef: It was definitely a monodrama in my third year at JAMU, because I had to find a partner and support in myself.

Šimona: I would say that rehearsing with Andrea Buršová, with whom I collaborated on the monodrama Prima Facie in my third year at JAMU, was unique. The essential thing about this collaboration was that I was free to do whatever I wanted with the confidence of my director.

Ema: Mainly probably some of the class projects at DAMU and our second graduation production ORETRIOM: Landscape of Sound at DISK Theatre. Mostly for the collaboration with my classmates and some exploration of myself through these projects.

What would you become if you weren't actors/actresses?

Josef: I would probably be a PE teacher and sew things on a sewing machine.

Šimona: I would do part-time jobs until I'd die.

Ema: A masseur or a mason.

What do you expect from an acting engagement? What are you looking forward to and what are you afraid of?

Josef: I expect collaborative work in a team that will be a pleasure to work with. I am looking forward to everything new and at the same time I am afraid of shattered illusions.

Šimona: I try not to expect. I just know that the most important thing for me now is to relax and get to know my colleagues. I'm looking forward to having a blast together, I'm afraid I'll become scared.

Ema: I don't know if I'm expecting anything major, I guess I see it more as another school in terms of self-development and learning from and with others. I'm looking forward to the projects that are coming up and working with everyone at HaDivadlo. At the same time I'm very afraid of some kind of failure or setback, but I guess it's just mostly fear of change and the unknown.

Why should the audience come to HaDivadlo?

Josef: Because theatre is a beautiful and lively medium that happens now and here and it will never be the same again. It's a place where one can slow down and forget for a moment about the world that is happening "up there". It's an adventure.

Šimona: Because a new wind is coming and I believe that the audience will have something to look forward to. Even if I would not be joining HaDivadlo now as a new actress, I would definitely want to be a part of something like this.

Ema: Why shouldn't they?! I think they should come because it's alive!

You can meet the new cast members on 6 September 2025 at 17:00 in Zahrady pod Petrovem at the opening of Season 51: Kolektiv with the subtitle Let's fly together. At 19:30 the programme will move to the HaDivadlo space in the Alfa passage, where the new visual identity will be unveiled. Programme of the event will include a VJ set by Zkrat Kolektiv, a musical performance by Kryštof Pátra and a concert by Venktovka. We are looking forward to seeing you.
