Husa na provázku Theater is Parent Friendly

Starting this March, parents in Brno will have a little easier access to culture. The Husa na provázku Theater will offer free childcare for selected performances with earlier start times so that parents can enjoy a carefree visit to the theater.

"We have long strived to ensure that our theater reflects the broadest possible spectrum of experiences and perspectives in contemporary society. A natural part of this effort is accessibility for audiences in different life situations. We believe that even parents with preschool-aged children do not have to give up their own cultural needs. We therefore want to offer them a full theater experience, knowing that their children are being cared for in a safe and stimulating environment. We also strive to remove financial barriers, so parents pay nothing for childcare in addition to the tickets for the performance," says Marie Klemensová, dramaturge and lecturer at the Husa na provázku Theater.

Childcare is intended for children aged 3–6 and will take place at provázek.studio (Studio CED), which is fully adapted to their needs. The program is provided by students and graduates of the Theater and Education Department at JAMU and the Faculty of Education at MUNI, who have been collaborating with the theater for a long time. Interactive activities and games that promote creativity, cooperation, and communication skills are prepared for the children. The project is based on the experience of the Parent-Friendly Culture Studio Alta program, which inspired Brno's Provázek.

"Parent Friendly" evenings will take place at least once a month for selected titles with an earlier start time. The next performances will take place on March 8 and 29 and April 26, 2026.
