Programme

Centre for Experimental Theatre

The Centre for Experimental Theatre is responsible for the activities of three Brno theatres – Husa na provázku Theatre, HaDivadlo and Terén. Each theatre operates independently of the others, follows its own dramaturgy and creates its own distinctive programme. Thanks to that, you will take away a unique experience from each of our theatres.

Practical information:

  • The dress code for all our theatres is casual wear.
  • Dogs are not allowed at most performances. Some accompanying and outdoor programmes allow dogs. Specific information can be found directly on the theatres' websites.
  • The main stage and the courtyard (provázek.dvůr) of the Husa na provázku Theatre, and the HaDivadlo theatre are wheelchair accessible. The accessibility of Terén's programmes depends on the location. For more information, please visit the theatres' websites.

Husa na provázku Theatre

Husa na provázku Theatre – a stage for contemporary themes and unexpected formats.

The Husa na provázku Theatre can be found in the House of the Lords of Fanal at Zelný trh 9.

It has a permanent ensemble and operates as an alternative studio repertory theatre. It plays in the big stage (provázek.sál) and on the basement stage of the CED (provázek.sklep).

Currently, the theatre emphasizes the non-indulgent approach to contemporary themes and novel literary subjects.

The main stage of the theatre - Provazek.sál is wheelchair accessible. The courtyard – Provázek.dvůr is wheelchair accessible except for the galleries. The small stage of the theatre Provázek.sklep is not wheelchair accessible, but access can be arranged. More information can be found directly on the theatre's website, specifically on the Contact page.

HaDivadlo

HaDivadlo – a scene of experimentation, experience, and collective creation.

HaDivadlo is located in the Alfa passage, (Poštovská 8d,) near the náměstí Svobody. The main access to the Alfa passage is from Jánská Street (after 22.00 only this entrance is open). The other main access routes are through the Omega department store or through the passageway in the house at náměstí Svobody 74.

It has a permanent ensemble with its own repertoire. It is performed in a blackbox-type venue in the space of the former cinema.

Its artistic focus today is mainly on original projects, original adaptations of classical texts and accompanying programmes.

The HaDivadlo premises are barrier-free. For more information about accessibility, please visit the practical information section of the theatre's website.

Terén

Terén is a dramaturgical and production platform without its own ensemble or permanent stage, which has been in existence since 2019. In addition to theatrical or near-theatrical halls, it also places its projects in non-traditional spaces in Brno. Each project has its own specific location. Information about venues can always be found in the programme on the Terén website.

It supports the creation and presentation of new works of contemporary live art – from regularly staged theatre productions to interdisciplinary artistic projects.

It specialises in establishing and developing new collaborations and forms of collaboration between artists, audiences, the public, diverse organisations and international partners and networks.

In addition to its own productions, Terén establishes collaborations with Czech and international artists and art collectives. Its productions are then inherently English-friendly or completely free of language barriers.
