The CED online archive is coming to life
The Centre for Experimental Theatre is digitising its rich archive in 2025! Coming in the end of the year, we can look forward to a publicly accessible online database that will not only contain informations about productions by CED theatres, but also materials related to productions and other non-theatre programs.
The archived materials of the CED theatres are currently accessible only physically in the CED Archive and Library in the House of the Lords of Fanal on the Zelný trh in Brno. However, they will soon be available online.
During 2025, the long-awaited CED digital archive is being created, which will make previously non-public materials available to the professional and general public in online form. The archive will contain more than 500 productions of CED theatres and countless other events of theatres that are or were part of the Centre for Experimental Theatre – Husa na provázku Theatre, HaDivadlo and Terén, as well as U stolu Theatre, CED Project and Studio Dům.
Thanks to the emerging online archive, research services will also be improved - each research station in the CED premises will be equipped with a computer with access to the database.
Already in the end of this year, the new archive will allow you to get acquainted with the productions staged by the theatres in the first 20 years of their existence. These include productions by the Husa na provázku Theatre between 1968 and 1988, HaDivadlo between 1974 and 1994 and U stolu Theatre between 1989 and 1999.
